You Are Vital, 2014

You Are Vital‘. 2014, projection mapping artwork onto paper, 4m x 2m.

Exhibited over two walls at Sarabah Estate for Scenic Rim Cultural Trails in conjunction with ‘Live at the Centre’.

You Are Vital is a combination of film and blocks of colour mapped onto origami bats. This piece draws attention to the ecological importance of the fruit bat, with inspiration taken from my local rural colony. The sound for this piece is created solely out of digitally manipulated bat squeaks. You Are Vital was a pre-curser to my later piece ‘Little Boxes’, and began my trend of using origami endangered and keystone animal species as the focus of my work.
